Patient Care Transport Specialist

Shared Health leads the planning and coordination of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba, delivering some province-wide health services and supporting centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Job DescriptionThe Patient Care Transport Specialist is responsible for the safe transportation of patients and other patient-related items within the Health Sciences Centre. This includes transporting oxygen therapy equipment, medical records, and equipment, as well as deceased patients to the morgue.
Required Skills and QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have good interpersonal and English communication skills, both oral and written. They must also have good organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff. Basic computer skills are required, and the ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting requests for service is essential.
BenefitsThis position offers a competitive salary range of $19.177 to $22.229 per hour, depending on experience. The successful candidate will also have access to comprehensive employee benefits, including a pension plan and health and dental insurance.
Work EnvironmentThe Patient Care Transport Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, transporting patients and equipment throughout the Health Sciences Centre. They will be expected to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to adjust to unforeseen circumstances and stressful situations. The position requires a high level of physical fitness, as the successful candidate will be required to lift, turn, and transfer patients and equipment.
