We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unit Supervisor to join our team at CASA Mental Health. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of children, youth, and families by providing timely mental health care and empowering them to thrive.

Job Summary:

  • Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the unit team on assigned shifts.
  • Participate in patient intakes, facilitate parent group orientation, and youth orientation, and participate in program eligibility assessment as required.
  • Oversee patient care decisions as the most responsible healthcare provider on evening shifts.
  • Provide electronic medical record documentation training and oversight for unit staff.
  • In collaboration with the Program Manager, develop and implement program-level education/training for the unit staff.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager, Program Supervisor, and Senior Manager, Clinical Practice to routinely review and plan improvement to enhance unit quality.
  • Support program staff to utilize a holistic and high-quality model of assessment and treatment planning that is family-centered, trauma-informed, and inclusive of biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors for patients and their families.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in children's mental health and/or youth addictions.
  • Acute care children's mental health experience is considered an asset.
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
