Job Description: As a Host/Hostess at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their stay. Your responsibilities will include greeting and seating guests, ensuring server distribution, fielding guest questions, and coordinating reservations. You will also be expected to maintain high standards of guest satisfaction and compliance with our food and beverage policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Windows-based programs: Proficiency in using software such as Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook is essential for this role.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication skills are required to interact with guests and colleagues in both official languages.
  • Food and Beverage knowledge: A good understanding of food and beverage principles is necessary to provide informed recommendations to guests.
  • Physical abilities: This role requires constant standing and walking throughout shifts, occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs, and occasional kneeling, pushing, or pulling.
