Physiotherapy Specialist for Tertiary Care

About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Physiotherapy Resident to join our team at Western Zone, Roseway Hospital. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities. You will work closely with other health disciplines to develop holistic treatment programs using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical, and hydrotherapy techniques.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess patients' physical conditions and develop treatment plans
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
* Provide supervision to physiotherapy assistants as needed
* Participate in the evaluation of team effectiveness and contribute to problem-solving
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or entry-level master program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
* Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (Provincial licensing body)
* Strong computer skills, including statistics input, word processing, and Outlook
* Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
* WHMIS training and certification
* Additional courses or education in specialized areas, such as cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a permanent full-time position, 75 hours biweekly. The hourly rate is $33.97. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
