Physiotherapy Resident

The Physiotherapy Resident will work in a tertiary care setting, assessing and treating patients with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities. This role requires a detailed medical history, specific and standardized tests, and evaluation procedures to determine a physical diagnosis.
Treatment Programs
Developed using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical, and hydrotherapy techniques to assist patients in regaining and/or maintaining an optimal level of function. The Physiotherapy Resident will educate and communicate with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers regarding health promotion, physiotherapy treatment, and patient management.
Collaboration and Supervision
As a member of a clinical team, the Physiotherapy Resident will collaborate with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participate in the evaluation of team effectiveness, and solve problems and share responsibilities. This position provides supervision of physiotherapy assistants.
About You
We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's degree or entry level master program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university and Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (Provincial licensing body). Computer skills, Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification, and WHMIS training and certification are also required.
Working Conditions
This is a Permanent Full-time, 75 hours biweekly position with Shiftwork / Call / Rotation / etc. The successful candidate may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
