About the Role

As a Physiotherapist with Alberta Health Services, you will provide high-quality outpatient services to clients in Ponoka. You will work closely with an Allied Health Area Manager and Physiotherapy Professional Practice Lead, with opportunities to collaborate with professionals in surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical direction to a Therapy Assistant and may supervise clinical placements for Physiotherapy or Therapy Assistant students.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimal physical function and independence in various settings.
  • Incorporate clients and families as integral members of the healthcare team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to determine, implement, and evaluate appropriate rehabilitation strategies.
  • Participate in interprofessional teams to enhance awareness, enrich supports, and engage in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise students, Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides, and Provisional Physiotherapists.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program.
  • Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider certification from Heart & Stroke Foundation.
  • Current AADL Authorizer preferred.

Ponoka is a fun and scenic community offering many recreational facilities, including the Aqua plex with indoor pool, Summer Splash Park, trails, parks, and upgraded playgrounds. Located 12 minutes from the 27-hole Wolf Creek Golf Resort and 8 km of trail systems through the Battle River Valley connected to the Trans-Canada Trail System.

Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
