Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Counsel, Generalist to join our team at Definity. As a key member of our Legal department, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and guidance to various business units across the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on various matters, including contract review, negotiation, and drafting, as well as regulatory compliance and intellectual property issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement legal strategies that support business objectives.
  • Analyze and interpret complex legal issues and provide sound advice to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key business partners and vendors.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing laws and regulations and provide guidance on compliance.
Requirements
  • Law degree from an accredited law school (LLB or Juris Doctor).
  • Licensed to practice law in Ontario.
  • At least 3 years of post-call experience in drafting and negotiating legal agreements.
  • Excellent communication, research, and drafting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to build strong relationships.
