Job Description: Human Resources Generalist position at Voyago / Transdev Ontario in Kitchener - Waterloo, Ontario, responsible for coordinating HR functions, employee relations, compliance, and administration.

  • Support investigations and resolutions with HR Business Partner
  • Provide HR advisory service for employees and leaders on absence, conduct, and disputes
  • Maintain compliance records and follow up on leave of absences
  • Advise operations team on HR practices and policy interpretation
  • Assist with disciplinary matters and corrective action
  • Recommend employee relations practices to foster a strong employee experience

  • Maintain knowledge of current legislation relating to employment law, WSIB, Labour Relations Act, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable employment laws and requirements

  • Administer employee requests for verification letters
  • Assist with internal employee changes and drafting applicable paperwork
  • Assist with facilitating pay increases and drafting disciplinary letters
  • Support Operations with the annual review of Divisional Specific Policies and Procedures
  • Create and deliver customized reports to support the HR Business Partner and Operational Leaders

  • Re-engineer processes to improve efficiency and compliance
  • Complete special projects as requested by the HR Business Partner

  • Post-secondary education or degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience
  • CHRP certification is preferred
  • Clean Criminal Record Search is required
  • Strong professional presence and planning and organization skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization with consultative and partnering skills
  • Experience with conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations
  • Commitment to strong integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Highly motivated and self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other common applications
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and HR databases is an asset
  • Knowledge of current legislations relating to employment standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Enhanced organizational and time management skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office Experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel throughout Southwestern & Central Ontario regions
  • Available to work on-site in the Kitchener office
