Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Specialist to join our team at GRD Contracting Ltd. The successful candidate will have expertise in woodworking and a strong background in construction.

About the Role

This permanent position involves working 40 hours per week, with a salary of $**65,000 - $80,000 per year**, depending on experience. English is the primary work language.

Responsibilities

The Construction Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Preparing estimates of labour and material costs;
  • Reading blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements;
  • Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials;
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware;
  • Scheduling and co-ordinating work on sites;
  • Maintaining, repairing and renovating residences and wooden structures in various establishments.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate;
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in construction or a related field;
  • Accurate and efficient interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent written communication skills;
  • Judgement and the ability to work as part of a team.
