Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Huawei Technologies Canada Co., Ltd. is seeking a Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze the competitive environment for cloud-based data processing and serverless technologies.
  2. Design and implement a robust framework for next-generation data and AI systems.
  3. Conduct in-depth analysis of user requirements to develop optimized software solutions.
  4. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, including parallel and distributed systems, and large-scale data analytics, while sharing insights with the team.
  5. Innovate and contribute to new patent submissions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Extensive expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AI-driven data processing and system optimization.
  • In-depth understanding of core database internals (e.g., query optimization, runtime, scheduling, storage engines, transaction processing).
  • Experience with large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g., Flink, Spark, Presto).
  • Familiarity with big data storage solutions (e.g., HDFS, Columnar Databases).
  • Proficiency in scalable key-value storage systems (e.g., Rocksdb, LevelDB, Redis).
  • Knowledge of serverless platform architectures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Telecommunications.
  • A Master’s or PhD in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading teams and driving product success is advantageous.
  • Ability to mentor and guide team members on design and technical skills, including data structures, multi-threading, concurrency, and performance optimization, is a plus.
