Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager to lead our Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team at General Motors. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure and automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers in the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based infrastructure and automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
  • Develop and implement cloud security and regulatory compliance strategies.
  • Manage globally deployed applications and enterprise-level cloud infrastructure budgets.
  • Scale native cloud infrastructure at an enterprise level.
  • Hire top talent and build diverse and inclusive teams.
  • Develop a culture of healthy work environment that is both supportive and challenging.
  • Work well cross-functionally and navigate through ambiguity.
  • Think rigorously and make hard decisions and tradeoffs.
  • Extreme customer focus and committed to investing in partnerships with other engineering teams.

Requirements

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science/Engineering preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or related roles, with a focus on cloud-based infrastructure and automation.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing large teams of engineers.
  • Established SRE as a practice within an organization.
  • Experience leading a global team with 24x7x365 operations.
  • Experience with cloud security and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing globally deployed applications.
  • Experience managing enterprise-level cloud infrastructure budgets.
  • Experience scaling native cloud infrastructure at an enterprise level.
  • Experience hiring top talent, building diverse and inclusive teams, and fostering a culture of healthy work environment.
  • A genuine enjoyment of learning about how things work, with the ability to ask engineers good questions about architecture and product decisions.
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally, and navigate through ambiguity.
  • Ability to think rigorously and make hard decisions and tradeoffs.
  • Extreme customer focus, committed to investing in partnerships with other engineering teams.
