Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) efforts. About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-class health organization that is committed to advancing the pillars of Indigenous cultural safety, equity, diversity, and inclusion, anti-racism, and planetary health. As Executive Director, EDI and Anti-Racism, you will oversee the strategic planning, partnership development, and collaborative implementation of our EDI and Anti-Racism framework. You will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of inclusivity, equity, accessibility, and anti-racism within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement EDI and Anti-Racism strategies to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout VCH
  • Lead the development of educational curriculum and training programs to address systemic barriers and promote cultural competence
  • Collaborate with VCH Indigenous Health to address systemic racism and disparities within healthcare
  • Advocate for the needs of Indigenous communities and promote Indigenous cultural safety and reconciliation
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided to diverse patient populations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Master's degree in Indigenous Studies, Equity, Inclusion and Diversity, Psychology, Sociology, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related discipline
  • 15 years of leadership experience developing and implementing organizational strategic initiatives to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion and anti-racism, preferably within a health care or other large complex public sector
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of anti-racism principles, health care disparities, and cultural competence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
