Job Description


The Assistant Site Superintendent will play a key role in ensuring the successful completion of residential construction projects. This includes coordinating with various stakeholders, such as architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.



About the Role



  • Support the Site Superintendent in managing site programs and schedules
  • Assist in developing construction schedules and site management plans
  • Review and implement quality control measures to ensure compliance with Minto's standards
  • Coordinate with trades and suppliers to ensure efficient and effective project delivery
  • Maintain daily comprehensive logs and facilitate effective site meetings
  • Develop and implement quality control programs
  • Represent Minto on matters such as business services and union contract negotiations
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
  • Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
  • Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors and junior staff
  • Ensure work is performed and communicated in compliance with Minto's Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and WSI Act
  • Attend Health and Safety training as required
  • Ensure employees have the necessary training to perform their work and report workplace hazards/injuries promptly
  • Ensure all new workers receive a workplace-specific Health and Safety Orientation


Required Skills and Qualifications


To be successful in this role, you will require:



  • A College Diploma in Construction Management or equivalent
  • A minimum of one to two years of relevant residential construction work experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (listening, verbal, and written)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Skills in relationship building with established broad network of contacts including staff, trade partners, inspectors, and suppliers
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Ontario Building Codes, Energy Star guidelines, and Health & Safety Regulations
  • Computer experience, including knowledge of MS Office Suite
