We are seeking an experienced Wastewater Engineer to join our team at KGS Group.

About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a highly skilled engineer with a focus on wastewater treatment and conveyance projects. As an Intermediate Municipal Engineer, you will play a key role in developing municipal wastewater treatment and conveyance projects from proposal stage through design, construction, and final delivery.

You will work collaboratively on projects within the municipal department as well as on multi-disciplinary projects with various other departments at KGS Group. Depending on your career path, you will focus on design development or take on project management responsibilities. Opportunities will continue to be provided to expand your knowledge and participate in larger municipal infrastructure projects.

  • Develop designs that support a team or act as the lead designer on municipal infrastructure projects related to wastewater collection and treatment, linear infrastructure, and land development.
  • Work with and provide guidance to junior staff.
  • Participate in and promote KGS Group's safety-first culture.

Your Key Responsibilities:

About You

To fill this role, we're looking for an applicant to bring forward a good mix of qualifications and previous experiences. Some highlights include:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or biosystems from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • 6-8 years of related work experience in the planning, design, and implementation of wastewater treatment and conveyance projects including some or all of the following:
    • Lagoons
    • Mechanical Treatment Plant Design
    • Lift Station and Forcemain Design
    • Odour Control Design
    • Industrial Wastewater Treatment
    • Land development
  • Previous project management experience will be considered an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Working knowledge of relevant municipal and guidance documents.

We offer a competitive salary range between $80,000 - $120,000 per year based on location and experience.
