Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Practice Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our Mental Health Program, you will be responsible for advancing quality of care, clinical teaching, and staff development in our adult inpatient mental health setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and staff development.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff on best practices, evidence-based care, and clinical decision-making.
  • Collaborate with inter-professional teams to build capacity and competence in acute mental health care.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs and materials to support staff learning and development.
  • Conduct research and evaluation to inform practice and improve patient outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to professional practice and clinical care.
  • Participate in regional initiatives and collaborations to advance mental health care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent required.
  • Masters degree in Nursing, Education, or Health Administration preferred.
  • Active member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Certification with the Canadian Nurses' Association in Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing (CPMHNc) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in acute mental health settings.
  • Knowledge and expertise in least restraint practices and non-violent crisis intervention.
  • Research and outcome evaluation skills.
  • Knowledge of mental health and concurrent disorders best practices.
  • Understanding of conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated quality improvement strategies.
  • Ability to lead change.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and team leadership skills.
