About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at SQ Construction. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our facilities, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise a team of 5-10 maintenance staff, including tilesetters, plasterers, drywall installers and finishers, fence erectors, and kitchen cupboard and vanity installers.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties.
  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all facilities, including construction, installation, and maintenance of equipment and systems.
    • Ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards, and that all necessary safety protocols are followed.
  • Administration and Coordination
    • Prepare and submit reports on maintenance and repair activities, including costs and materials used.
    • Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities, including requisitioning and ordering materials and equipment as needed.
  • Communication and Liaison
    • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other stakeholders to ensure that all maintenance and repair activities are completed efficiently and effectively.
    • Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure that all necessary materials and services are provided in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Other trades certificate or diploma.
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a maintenance or supervisory role.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent oral communication skills.
    • Organized and reliable with a strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Work Environment
    • Willing to travel to various locations as required.
