**Job Summary**

The Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher (PT) is a vital member of the Coast Hotels team, responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Operate, clean, and maintain dishwashing equipment to ensure a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Assist with food preparation and support the kitchen team during regular service and banquet events.
  • Adhere to Coast Hotels' quality standards and protocols when completing tasks.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the property, colleagues, and guests.
  • Stock supplies and maintain inventory levels to prevent shortages and waste.
  • Represent Coast Hotels as an ambassador, demonstrating a customer-focused attitude and exceptional service skills.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the kitchen team.

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

  • Previous experience in a similar role is an asset; preference will be given to candidates with culinary arts training or equivalent experience.
  • FoodSafe certification or equivalent is required.
  • Hepatitis A Vaccination is recommended.
  • Physical mobility and stamina are essential for this role.
  • Professional attitude and appearance are expected.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to take verbal direction and read and apply instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with good time management skills.
  • WHMIS training is an asset.
  • Exemplifies Coast's core values and enjoys working in a culture of accountability.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
