**Job Summary**

The Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher (PT) is a vital member of the Coast Hotels team, responsible for providing exceptional support and customer service in the kitchen. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Operate, clean, and maintain dishwashing equipment to ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Complete assigned prep work to support the kitchen team during regular service and banquet events.
  • Adhere to Coast Hotels' standards and protocols when completing tasks.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the property, colleagues, and guests.
  • Stock supplies and maintain inventory levels to prevent shortages.
  • Represent Coast Hotels as an ambassador, demonstrating a customer service attitude with internal and external contacts.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the kitchen team.

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

  • Some experience in a similar role is an asset; preference will be given to candidates who have completed a culinary arts or professional cook training program.
  • FoodSafe or equivalent certification is required.
  • Hepatitis A Vaccination is recommended.
  • Physical mobility and stamina are necessary for this role.
  • A professional attitude and appearance are essential.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial.
  • The ability to take verbal direction and read and apply instructions is necessary.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail is required.
  • Good time management and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Performing duties efficiently and effectively is expected.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training is an asset.
  • Exemplifying Coast's core values and enjoying a culture of accountability is essential.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
