Job Summary
This role is responsible for the physical setup of banquet rooms and the theatre under the general direction of the Manager, Banquets. The successful candidate will be required to assume all roles of a server, including serving food and beverages to guests, while ensuring adherence to the company's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with room and table setup, including moving furniture, to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Clean and set meeting rooms and banquet functions according to specifications to maintain a high level of quality and cleanliness.
- Keep service corridors, pre-function space, and storage areas clean, organized, and unobstructed to ensure a safe and welcoming work environment.
- Set up and maintain buffet stations and/or coffee stations to meet the needs of guests.
- Perform bartending duties as required to provide excellent service to guests.
- Serve guests menu items in a prompt and courteous manner and check to ensure satisfaction to meet guest expectations.
- Stock room supplies, such as linen, pads, pens/pencils, and mints, as required to maintain a well-stocked environment.
- Clear tables, remove glasses, and re-stock as required to maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Assist other servers as necessary to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Liaise and communicate effectively with all operational departments to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed to support the team and achieve business objectives.
Requirements
- Experience in a food and beverage environment, with banquet experience an asset.
- Serving It Right, Smart Serve, or IGB certification, or the ability to obtain a Serving It Right Certification.
- Ability to bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds to meet the physical demands of the role.
- Ability to obtain a Gaming License and Serving It Right certificate to meet regulatory requirements.
