About This Opportunity

Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facility Supervisor to join our Ottawa team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing site and trade workers, ensuring that all aspects of building or facility maintenance are carried out in accordance with contract specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule, supervise, and monitor onsite staff and subcontracted personnel to accomplish tasks in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Interface with internal and external customers to ensure effective communication regarding status and priority of work.
  • Manage site coordination for facility projects, including construction/renovation commencement and completion dates, contractor and consultant site visits, staff relocation, and equipment relocation.
  • Coordinate ordering and stocking materials and supplies in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Oversee and provide support to administrative staff in the day-to-day processing of related contract paperwork, such as Work Orders, Invoices, Proposals, and Purchase Orders.
  • Ensure all facility operation and equipment maintenance manuals are available and up to date.
  • Review and approve all expenditures for materials and supplies.
  • Assist with monthly reports related to facility maintenance and operating budgets.
  • Recommend and oversee training requirements for FMO employees.
  • Ensure all required environmental, health, and safety programs are implemented as per Health & Safety Plan.
  • Perform periodic facility inspections as necessary.
  • Ensure quality assurance inspections are completed as per Quality Assurance Plan.

Education and Work Experience Requirements
  • Trade qualification and/or technical diploma (or equivalent facility experience and knowledge).
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a supervisory role with a strong focus on facility and business process.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements
  • Must be able to hold and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience with building materials and systems.
  • Competency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
