About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Excavations Superintendent to join our team at GBA Demolition & Excavating Ltd. as a key member of our site operations team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of excavation sites, ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the work of 5-10 personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure that projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed, and that a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate and schedule activities to meet project deadlines, and work closely with other project supervisors and managers to ensure that all aspects of the project are well-coordinated.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and control the quality of work, identifying and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Resource Management: Requisition materials and supplies as needed, and ensure that all equipment and tools are properly maintained.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and support to team members to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Skills: Excellent oral communication skills, accurate, team player, and ability to work under pressure
  • Security Clearance: Basic security clearance
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Dusty and noisy work environment
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, with overtime required as needed
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with tight deadlines and pressure to meet project targets
