Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Excavations Superintendent to join our team at GBA DEMOLITION & EXCAVATING LTD. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing excavation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recommend measures to improve productivity and efficiency on excavation sites
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Co-ordinate and schedule activities to ensure projects are completed on time
  • Co-ordinate work activities with other project supervisors or managers to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed on all excavation sites
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and deadlines
  • Read blueprints and drawings to understand project requirements
  • Recommend personnel actions to ensure the right people are in the right roles
  • Requisition materials and supplies to ensure projects have the necessary resources
  • Supervise workers and projects to ensure they are completed to the highest quality standards
  • Train or arrange for training to ensure workers have the necessary skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in excavation or a related field
  • Basic security clearance
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Team player with a strong work ethic
