The Opportunity
Manulife is seeking a seasoned program director to lead our Canada Data Office (CDO) team in delivering strategic programs that drive business outcomes. As a key member of our data organization, you will be responsible for defining and implementing program management best practices, ensuring seamless delivery of financial management and reporting, planning, and partner engagement.
Responsibilities
- Provide program governance leadership, embedding strong program management best practices across CDO.
- Develop and maintain a Program Management Playbook, combining industry best practices and Manulife standards, to ensure consistency and agility.
- Continuously evaluate delivery program strength, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance CDO's operating approach.
- Support the Head of CDO in capacity/resource forecasting, budget management, and planning at the portfolio level, working closely with other CDO value stream leaders.
- Responsible for regular portfolio reporting and dashboards to internal and external partners, consolidating program status reports from program managers.
- Create reports and dashboards to visualize and communicate CDO delivery performance.
- Own selected programs within the portfolio.
- Guide and manage other program managers and/or engage with value stream leads within CDO.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on program management experience in a large organization.
- Experience with data technology solutions, including big data technologies (Cloud, Azure).
- Excelling in program/program/portfolio financial management.
- Hands-on experience with Agile processes.
- Proven track record of building effective relationships within various levels of an organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid conflict management and resolution skills.
- High analytical ability to break down complex issues.
- Self-directed and confident to work independently.
- Team-first approach, able to contribute to building an impactful team.
- Fast learner, with strong resilience and resourcefulness.
