The Opportunity

Manulife is seeking a Program Director to join our data organization and assist us in becoming a digital leader in our industry through trusted data.

This role will be responsible for defining and implementing program management best practices in support of Canada Data Office's strategic priorities, covering financial management and reporting, planning, and partner engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide program governance leadership and embed strong program management best practices across Canada Data Office.
  • Define a program management playbook combining industry best practices and Manulife standards, maintaining consistency and agility.
  • Continuously evaluate delivery program strength to improve CDO's operating approach, challenging the status quo to improve.
  • Support the Head of CDO in capacity and resource forecasting, budget management, and planning at the portfolio level.
  • Responsible for regular portfolio reporting and dashboards to internal and external partners, consolidating program status reports from program managers.
  • Create reports and dashboards to visualize and communicate CDO delivery performance.
  • Own selected programs within the portfolio.
  • Guide and manage other program managers and engage with value stream leads within CDO.

What we are looking for

  • 5+ years of hands-on program manager experience in a large-sized organization.
  • Experience with data technology solutions and understanding of big data technologies, particularly Cloud (Azure).
  • Excelling in program/program/portfolio financial management.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile processes.
  • Proven track record of building effective relationships within various levels of an organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid conflict management and resolution skills.
  • High analytical ability to break down complex issues.
  • Self-directed and confident to work independently.
  • A team-first approach and ability to contribute to building an impactful team.
  • A fast learner with strong resilience and resourcefulness.
