Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Shift Engineer - Second Class to join the Power Plant team at Vancouver General Hospital.
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of industrial plant operations, maintenance, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, repair, and maintain high-pressure boilers, turbines, and related equipment in a combined cycle power plant.
- Provide work direction to Assistant Shift Engineers and coordinate work activities to ensure efficient and safe plant operations.
- Collaborate with the Manager, Plant Operations to develop and implement maintenance and repair strategies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Grade 12 plus five years' recent related experience in a first-class industrial plant.
- Second (2nd) Class Power Engineer's Certificate of Competency.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to read and interpret single-line drawings.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
