About the Role

This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of payroll and benefits administration within Oldcastle APG's Canadian businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Workday system, managing vendor relationships, and providing support to HR teams across Canada.

Main Accountabilities
  1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with OSV, Canada Life, and other key HR vendors for the Canada business.
  2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee-level data in Workday.
  3. Process payroll accurately and efficiently through OSV for Canadian employees, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
  4. Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks, aligning them with Canadian standards.
  5. Evaluate and implement tax strategies to minimize liabilities while ensuring compliance with Canadian tax laws.
  6. Support HR teams across Canadian Operating Companies with payroll and benefits-related inquiries, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
  7. Develop and maintain comprehensive payroll and benefits reports, performing regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with Canadian regulations.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in payroll or accounting.
  • Proven experience with Workday's HCM and Payroll Modules.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingualism (French and English).
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian Payroll, Benefits, and Provincial regulations.
  • PAYROLL COMPLIANCE PROFESSIONAL (PCP) designation is an asset.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
