Job Title: Produce Production Assistant Manager

This is a key role within the Produce Department at Farm Boy Inc., responsible for assisting the Department Manager in the day-to-day operations of the backroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a quality service approach to all employees, customers, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service and support Farm Boy's vision of the best fresh shopping experience.
  • Produce Operations: Oversee the preparation, packaging, pricing, rotation, and quality standards of produce.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the management team, including recording of shrink, supply inventory, and orders.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by performing general housekeeping duties, including equipment maintenance and sanitizing, sweeping, and mopping.
  • Leadership: Lead by example by promoting corporate policies, customer service standards, departmental cleanliness, and opening and closing procedures.
  • Training and Development: Assist, relieve, and train department personnel as requested by the management team.
  • Compliance: Comply with all corporate policies, especially as they relate to Health and Safety, Food Safety, and equipment use.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience: Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program, plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Clear and effective communication style, both written and oral. Good judgment and decision-making abilities while communicating with customers and Farm Boy team members.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining priorities and a high level of performance. Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Fluency in English and French is considered an asset.
