About the Opportunity

IWK Health, a respected academic health sciences centre located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, seeks a highly skilled Senior Communications Specialist to join its team. This key role will develop and maintain a strategic integrated approach to communications, public relations, and engagement activities in support of the Mental Health and Addictions (MHA) program.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the health care system, programs, and services, and the ability to apply this knowledge in developing communications strategies. They will work closely with the MHA leadership team, colleagues in the communications portfolios at NS Health, IWK, DHW, and the Office of Mental Health and Addictions (OAMH), as well as other government partners and families, to provide communications leadership and advice to support priorities.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to build and support a culture of internal and external communications and engagement that is time-sensitive, consistent, and reflective of the goals and objectives of the MHA strategic plan. The successful candidate will enhance understanding and awareness on behalf of multiple partners across many organizations.
