Job Title: Associate Director, Finance

At Douglas College, we are seeking an experienced and skilled Associate Director, Finance to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in providing financial management expertise to support the college's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of financial performance reports to the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training (AEST) and other stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Administration: Supervise and lead a team of managers and support staff, providing training and guidance to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, identifying and mitigating risks to the college.
  • Data and Information Integrity: Oversee the management and tracking of complex financial data and systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
Requirements:
  • A relevant university degree and CPA designation, combined with a minimum of seven years of related experience at a mid to senior management level.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment and supervising staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations, as well as model professional, ethical, and collaborative behaviors.
  • Strong technical abilities and financial systems experience, including Microsoft Office and major ERP systems.
