About the Role

CIMA+ is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer and Lead Technologist to join our team in Calgary, AB. As a key member of our mechanical design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality designs and project support for a variety of complex projects across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Engineering: Prepare mechanical contract drawings, schematics, and schedules for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Project Support: Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to provide design and engineering support for mechanical systems.
  • Site Reviews and Surveys: Conduct site reviews and surveys, and generate engineering reports to ensure accurate and efficient project delivery.
  • Quality and Cost Control: Monitor quality and cost control during project design to ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with industry colleagues and clients to ensure excellent customer service and support.
  • Discipline Coordination: Coordinate with other disciplines to deliver accurate and complete contract documents.
  • Specifications: Prepare and review specifications to ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Certificate or diploma in related mechanical engineering or engineering technology from an accredited University or College with emphasis on mechanical buildings design.
  • Experience: 10+ years of technical design and engineering experience for commercial and institutional buildings, with expertise in Autodesk Revit, BIM360, and AutoCAD.
  • Skills: Familiarity with municipal and provincial codes, ASHRAE, and NFPA; strong verbal and written English communication skills; excellent problem-solving skills and self-motivation; keen attention to detail and ability to perform work accurately with strong technical aptitude.
