SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the guidance of an Architectural Technology Manager, the Senior Architectural Technologist will undertake a range of production tasks essential for transforming a building from its initial concept to its final completion.

Your contributions will be vital in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and completeness of finished drawing packages through effective coordination with team members and consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate technical content, including detailed drawings, while maintaining the highest standards of excellence and ensuring the design intent is preserved throughout the project.
  • Support the Contract Administrator during the construction phase.
  • Assist in conducting code analysis and implementing Quality Control procedures.
  • Help with the printing, assembly, circulation, and organization of project documents.
  • Address challenging operational tasks or drawing production issues.
  • Actively participate as a team member in developing highly detailed models using REVIT.

Maintain open communication with clients throughout the design process, providing updates and addressing inquiries while aligning with the project goals established by the client.

Understand and adhere to the available fees and resources for each project, as well as the deadlines agreed upon with the Project Architect and Studio Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Lead, develop, prepare, and review Design Development Drawings (DD) and Contract Documents along with specifications.
  • Attend coordination and site meetings.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to other Architectural Technologist Team Members.

The ideal candidate for the Senior Architectural Technologist role will possess:

  • Strong leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • An Architectural Technology Diploma.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, with fluency in Revit, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial design.
  • Experience as a project lead on small to medium-sized projects, with the ability to support a Senior Project Lead on larger projects.
  • Familiarity with the Alberta Building Code.
  • Experience with large and complex projects across various sectors, including commercial, healthcare, institutional, mixed-use, industrial, and retail.
  • High proficiency in developing architectural drawing packages and a strong understanding of detailing.
  • Adaptability and openness to design challenges.
