Job Summary
Aon is seeking a highly skilled Insurance Broker Associate to join our team. As an Insurance Broker Associate, you will play a key role in developing coverage strategies and marketing initiatives for clients in the construction and contracting segment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with account executives to develop coverage strategies and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business in the construction and contracting segment.
- Process and/or issue new policies and policy renewals, changes, additions, deletions, and cancellations.
- Prepare new business and renewals and keep them up to date.
- Analyze client-specific risk exposure and details coverage requirements.
- Prepare and present marketing proposals for renewals and new business.
- Negotiate, establish, and maintain strong relationships with the underwriting community for the ultimate benefit of the client.
- Follow up with insurers to confirm terms of negotiated contracts are met.
- Communicate directly with underwriters to follow up or obtain additional information.
- Review and proofread all assignments, obtain proper signatures, and dispense as appropriate.
- Calculate adjustments and premiums on policies and other insurance documents.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to broking coordinators.
- Lead by example by demonstrating and sharing with all lines of business the importance of best practice.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of commercial insurance or broking experience required.
- Experience with construction domain is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, both verbally and written.
- Client-focused and confirmed relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision.
- Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task.
- Shown ability to prioritize challenging requirements and deadlines under pressure.
- Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package.
