About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Broker to join our team at Aon. As a key member of our national team, you will have the opportunity to grow through training and support, working closely with account managers as an expert advisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with account executives to develop coverage strategies and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business;
- Process, and/or issue where applicable, new policies and policy renewals, changes, additions, deletions, and cancellations;
- Prepare new business and renewal documents and keep them up to date;
- Analyze client-specific risk exposure and detail coverage requirements; prepare and present marketing proposals for renewals and new business;
- Negotiate, establish, and maintain strong relationships with the underwriting community for the ultimate benefit of the client;
- Follow up with insurers to confirm terms of negotiated contracts are met;
- Communicate directly with underwriters to follow up or obtain additional information;
- Review and proofread all assignments, obtain proper signatures, and dispense as appropriate;
- Calculate adjustments and premiums on policies and other insurance documents;
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to the Associate Broker and Broking Coordinator;
- Lead by example by demonstrating and sharing with all lines of business the importance of best practice;
- Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

As a broker at Aon, you will have the chance to work on a national scale, helping clients manage their risk transfer strategies, particularly in relation to executive risks, such as liability of directors and officers, fiduciary liability, employment practices liability, and fidelity insurance.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience and knowledge in insurance, an asset;
- Level One & Two insurance license preferred, or intention to obtain within a period of 6 months;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
