We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of provincial wellbeing initiatives, prevention strategies, and policies that promote the holistic wellbeing of Manitoba's healthcare workforce.
Main Function:The Manager, Provincial Wellbeing will be responsible for leading the execution of the provincial wellbeing strategy in collaboration with Wellbeing Leaders and Service Delivery Organizations. This includes developing and implementing provincial wellbeing initiatives, prevention strategies, and policies that promote the holistic wellbeing of Manitoba's healthcare workforce.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development and implementation of provincial wellbeing initiatives, prevention strategies, and policies.
- Collaborate with Wellbeing Leaders and Service Delivery Organizations to execute the provincial wellbeing strategy.
- Develop and implement a consistent and sustainable Provincial Critical Incident Stress Response Program across a full continuum of services and education.
- Work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including Service Delivery Organizations, Occupational and Environmental Safety & Health (OESH), Shared Health, Manitoba Health, and other health providers.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience working in the healthcare delivery system and/or in a directly related role in healthcare with 2 years managerial experience.
- Experience in clinical consultation with clinicians and teams.
- Demonstrated experience in program management, including planning, budgeting, change leadership, evaluation, reporting, tracking, and developing detailed work plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Previous clinical experience and training in providing trauma-informed, systemic, strength-based approaches, and experience in providing the full continuum of Critical Incident Stress Response in both a group and individual setting.
- Experience in providing high-level consultation with senior leadership and HR.
- Strong clinical knowledge of mental health interventions, trauma, workplace stress, operational stress injuries, psychological safety in the workplace, and mental health and wellness.
- Experience and knowledge with the delivery of services and programs that foster equity, diversity, inclusion.
- Experience and demonstrated sensitivity in collaborating with Indigenous Peoples and culturally diverse populations.
- Experience with providing psychological supports to individuals and groups, both in person and virtually.
- Familiarity with Manitoba's public health care system and services.
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Public Health, Health Sciences or a related field).
- Master's degree in social work, Psychology, Nursing, or other related healthcare discipline preferred.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
- A valid Manitoba driver's license and use of a personal motor vehicle is required.
- Intermediate skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and virtual platforms (i.e., Microsoft Teams) required.
- Understanding of adult education delivery and program development.
- Proven ability to build and lead teams in changing working environments.
- Strong and compassionate people leadership skills with the ability to facilitate and negotiate using consultative decision-making processes, foster trust, maintain positive working relationships, and encourage diverse perspectives.
- Ability to conceptualize systemically the multi-faceted and dynamic nature of wellbeing within the broader healthcare ecosystem.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and develop innovative programs and manage programs within the healthcare system, including the development of provincial standards, policies, processes, procedures, and supporting documentation.
- Ability to integrate alternative approaches or practices from among diverse perspectives, e.g., Indigenous practices, ceremony, and healing practices.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in change management, with an ability to lead and influence interdisciplinary healthcare professionals at all levels.
- Strong understanding of the value and importance of cross-team collaboration with the ability to act as a consultative partner with various stakeholders.
- Strong coaching and facilitation skills, including development and delivery of training to professional audiences and commitment to the growth, development, and support of colleagues through communities of practice or employee resource groups.
- Strong clinical skills, including consultation, assessment, Critical Incident Stress Response, and trauma-informed care.
- Strong working knowledge of associated evidence-based best practices and advanced training in Critical Incident Stress Response (CISR) including mental health, trauma, and CISR response and support systems.
- Ability to exercise high-level clinical practice, empathy, and sound judgment in relation to sensitive and confidential matters and information.
- Ability to work with front-line employees with diverse life experiences with a demonstrated understanding of the impacts of marginalization on wellbeing.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and be adaptable to changing priorities as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Competence in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge/lived experience in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values is an asset.
- Will be required to complete cultural safety training, including specific Indigenous cultural awareness training, required by the employer.
- Fluency in English and bilingualism in French an asset.
- May be required to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings.
- May be required to travel throughout the service area requiring a valid Manitoba driver's license and use of a personal motor vehicle.
- Some evening/weekend work may be required.
