CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Controller to lead our accounting and clerical department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts, monitoring them on a monthly basis
- Oversee the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure timely cash collection
- Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and daily cash management
- Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation, and other departmental or firm-wide improvements
- Provide executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
- Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
- Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
- Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
- Evaluate, apply, and refine policies, procedures, controls, and methodologies
- Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations
- CPA or MBA preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
- Real estate or property management industry experience is an asset
- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Top-notch analytical, quantitative, and social skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
- Be detailed, flexible, and organized
