Job Title: Assistant Store Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Dollarama L.P. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Store Manager in overseeing the daily retail store operations and acting as the Manager on Duty (MOD) in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Store Manager with daily store operations, including supervising and coordinating store staff, assigning duties, and providing feedback.
  • Act as the Manager on Duty (MOD) in the absence of the Store Manager, ensuring the smooth operation of the store.
  • Supervise and coordinate store staff, including training new employees on key store processes and providing quality customer service.
  • Operate a cash register, perform cashier duties, and resolve customer concerns, issues, and inquiries.
  • Merchandise: Supervise and coordinate the resources of the store to maximize results and store appearance, ensuring inventory is always on the shelves.
  • Supervise and organize the reception and stocking of merchandise, as well as assist with merchandising activities in the warehouse and in the store.
  • Train new and current employees on key store processes and provide quality customer service during operating hours.
  • Address and assist with staffing requirements and recruitment needs, ensuring employees work safely by following health and safety procedures.
  • Key holding duties: Open and close the store, ensuring store cleanliness and participating in inventory control and loss prevention processes.
  • Prepare work schedules and support with recruitment, performance management, and dismissals as required.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the retail industry.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a supervisor position.
  • Flexible availability required (day, evening, weekend).
  • Ability to efficiently organize time and manage priorities.
  • Good leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-volume environment.
