Job Description for Accounting Bookkeeper

We are seeking an Accounting Bookkeeper to join our team at Onmyownbusiness Solutions Inc. The ideal candidate will have 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the field and a College/CEGEP education.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping

The Accounting Bookkeeper will be responsible for keeping financial records and establishing, maintaining and balancing various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.

Financial Reporting

They will prepare financial statements, maintain general ledgers, and post journal entries.

Tax Preparation

The Accounting Bookkeeper will prepare tax returns and perform other statistical, financial and accounting reports.

Financial Analysis

They will reconcile accounts, prepare a trial balance of books, and calculate fixed assets and depreciation.

Requirements
  • Education

College/CEGEP diploma in accounting or a related field.

Experience

2 years to less than 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

Skills

Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and Quick Books.

Equipment and Machinery

Familiarity with scanners and other office equipment.

Work Environment
  • Work Setting

The Accounting Bookkeeper will work in an urban area and may be required to relocate.

Transportation

Own transportation is required for this position.

  • Personal Qualities

The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Work Environment

They will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and work under pressure.
