Job Summary

The HR Business Partner I is a key member of the Human Relations team, responsible for providing strategic business partnership to internal customers and their leadership teams. This role involves developing and implementing programs and initiatives that support and enable the organization's short and long-range goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides consultation and direction to client groups to establish relevant functional goals and objectives, recruit, train, coach, and mentor employees, and support consistent adoption and adherence of programs, policies, and procedures across partnership areas.
  • Acts as the horizontal process owner to develop, implement, and administer HR programs, policies, procedures, and practices consistently across client groups in support of McCormick's philosophy and core values.
  • Drives HR process improvement, special projects, and effective change management programs/initiatives from idea through implementation, applying sound judgment and considering global impact when developing solutions.
  • Acts as the first point of contact for Employee Relations matters, providing coaching, guidance, and support to leadership in employee relations matters, guiding principal-based decisions, conveying HR policies and procedures, and responding to employee relations matters through completing investigations and required documentation with attention to detail.
  • Supports internal and external hourly recruitment activities, including providing support to the Operations Team, completing system workflow processes, creating offer letters, facilitating HR orientation for new hires, and managing work placements, internships, and the Summer Student Program.
  • Manages several HR programs, including overseeing Rewards & Recognition Programs, facilitating the Performance Management Process, and leading other HR program initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • University degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field.
  • CHRL designation.
  • Minimum 5 years of related progressive HR experience.
  • Employee relations and investigation experience.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and people, and organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Strong personal leadership and business sense.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Strong ethical behavior and professional maturity.
  • Ability to travel to local sites as needed.
