Healthcare Quality Executive with Strategic Vision

Job Summary:
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) seeks a visionary Healthcare Quality Executive to lead its quality planning and improvement program. As the Vice-President, Clinical Quality & Safety, you will foster a patient-centered approach to quality and continuous improvement, overseeing a multifaceted portfolio and establishing a quality management system aligned with organizational goals.
As a member of the Senior Executive Team, you will work in partnership with leaders throughout the region to ensure clinical engagement in the design and implementation of a comprehensive quality strategy. Your leadership skills will also be instrumental in integrating a holistic view of the organization's quality system, providing insights and recommendations to the President & CEO and Board of Directors on integrated strategic and operational planning for clinical quality and safety.
This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative healthcare executive with experience leading the quality framework for a complex organization. You will possess exceptional analytical and critical reasoning skills, with the ability to build partnerships and lead professional teams through significant organizational transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a quality management system that aligns with organizational goals
- Lead a transformational program of quality planning and improvement
- Foster a patient-centered approach to quality and continuous improvement
- Oversee a multifaceted portfolio and establish key performance indicators
- Provide leadership to VCH Steering and Board Advisory Committees in Patient Safety, Clinical Quality, and Accreditation
Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Nurse Practitioner (NP, DNP) degree, license/registration with applicable Provincial regulatory body, and master's level preparation in Health or Business Administration
- 15 years' clinical practice and senior leadership experience, including developing, implementing, and evaluating service delivery systems
- Certification in a recognized quality improvement program
- Comprehensive expertise in quality and safety theory, with experience applying it into program strategy and direction
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies
