Job Summary

The Business Clerk is responsible for providing scheduling services to support programs and designated service/care areas at Hamilton Health Sciences. This role requires a strong understanding of scheduling best practices, automated scheduling software, and human resource policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement staff schedules and day-to-day staffing needs for all employees.
  • Provide consistent and fiscally responsible schedules based on scheduling best practices.
  • Ensure employees are scheduled appropriately and pay data is captured in accordance with established policies, procedures, collective agreement provisions, and ESA.
  • Collaborate with programs and services to support scheduling and administrative needs.
  • Utilize Kronos ESP (Environment for Scheduling Personnel) Software or automate scheduling software to streamline scheduling processes.

Requirements

  • College certificate/diploma in Business, Secretarial, or Office Administration, or equivalent business experience.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a scheduling/administrative environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Union and Non-Union contracts and language related to ONA, CUPE, and OPSEU.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven communication skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict and problem solve.
