Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our Facilities Maintenance team. As a Building Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and providing exceptional service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine property and site inspections to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Perform preventive and demand maintenance tasks, including chemical treatment maintenance, filter changes, and equipment repairs.
- Inspect, operate, maintain, and repair boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, pumps, generators, and other building systems.
- Monitor electrical power distribution systems and respond to alarms in a timely and methodical manner.
- Perform minor repairs, including replacing washers, faucets, and clearing drains.
- Ensure maximum energy efficiency and maintain mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner, complying with all applicable government codes and regulations.
- Perform outdoor grounds keeping duties, including grass cutting, landscaping, and snow removal.
- Change Orientation: Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
- Communicates Effectively: Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members.

- Knowledge and understanding of HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical systems, and Building Automation Systems.
- Building Environment System certificate or a trade license (BES 1 and/or 2).
- Building Operator with 3-5 years' facilities maintenance and operations experience.
- Strong technical capabilities in building systems and equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills to respond to client requests professionally and promptly.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and/or at heights.
- Bending and lifting (under 30kg) required.
- Valid G driver's license required.
- Must obtain and maintain necessary security clearance.
