Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

Aspire Bakeries is a leading North American baking company with a strong presence in the specialty frozen baked goods market. Our innovative food portfolio includes a wide range of products, from breads and artisan breads to cookies, donuts, muffins, and pastries, all made with the highest quality ingredients and a commitment to excellence.

The Maintenance Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, overseeing maintenance operations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with on-site contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely completion and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and functioning at optimal levels.
  • Coordinate with on-site contractors, ensuring seamless execution of maintenance tasks and minimizing downtime.
  • Communicate effectively with production teams, ensuring smooth operation and minimizing disruptions.
  • Attend production meetings, providing updates on maintenance activities and ensuring alignment with production goals.
  • Ensure food safety compliance, working closely with QA teams to identify and address any issues.
  • Lead the team in troubleshooting equipment issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
  • Member of the Food Safety Committee, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • A Millwright or Electrician license, or an Engineering degree/diploma, is required.
  • 5-7 years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Certification as a Class B refrigeration operator is an asset.
  • Experience in food manufacturing is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Proven trades experience in technical problem-solving and decision-making is required.
