Technical Designer Position at Next Level Games

We are seeking an experienced Technical Designer to collaborate with our team of passionate game developers and contribute to the creation of engaging game experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a level creation pipeline that meets performance budget constraints.
  • Bridge the gap between tech and design teams, providing support and solutions to level-specific features.
  • Interface with design and engineering teams to propose and support solutions to level-specific features.
  • Design and promote shared tech solutions to gameplay and level needs.
  • Promote and maintain technical standards within performance budget constraints.
  • Liaise as a technical expert with supporting departments.
  • Help test new features and tools, providing feedback for possible improvements.
  • Think about long-term implications of tools and feature changes.
  • Establish best practices and workflows for designers.
Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong Maya skills.
  • Understanding of Python/PyMel.
  • Knowledge of C/C++, C#/.NET.
  • Desire and ability to support content creators.
  • Strong multi-discipline problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a multi-discipline team environment.
  • Organized and self-motivated.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Houdini.
  • Substance Painter/Designer experience.
  • Environment Art and Prop creation experience.
  • Unreal/Unity experience.

The hiring range for this position is $72,000 CAD annual and is subject to change. The final base salary compensation will be based on factors such as skills, education, and experience. This position is also eligible for benefits, including a discretionary performance bonus program, health benefits, and generous time-off.
