Job Title: Heavy Duty Journeyman Mechanic

Vertex is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Journeyman Mechanic to join our team in Grande Prairie, AB.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections on heavy truck and trailer equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagnostics.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy truck and trailer equipment
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnose issues with engines, drive trains, and electrical systems
  • Repair and replace components as needed, including brakes, clutches, and steering components
  • Complete required documentation and reporting for inspections and repairs
  • Prepare work orders and cost estimates for service approval
Requirements
  • Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeymen certificate
  • Red Seal certification is considered an asset
  • 4-6 years' experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, preferably with semi-truck and trailer experience
  • Class 5 License with a clean drivers' abstract
  • Ability to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity
