Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement effective safety strategies and programs.
- Conduct regular site inspections and investigations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety procedures and protocols.
- Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics and trends.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize hazards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of the business.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. occupational health and safety, environmental science, etc.).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a construction or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification.
- Experience with safety management software and systems.
- Fluency in French and English.
