Restaurant Manager Job Description

Fox Harb'r Resort is a 5-Star, 4-Diamond property located in a picturesque rural community on the shores of the Northumberland Strait in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the operations of a restaurant, bar, cafeteria, or other food or beverage service.
  • Determine the type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures.
  • Recruit staff and oversee staff training.
  • Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance.
  • Control inventory, monitor revenues, and modify procedures and prices.
  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies.
  • Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for banquets or receptions.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management.
  • Minimum of one year's experience in a food and beverage supervisory role.
  • Responsible beverage service certification required.
  • Experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience, are required.

Work Environment:

The Restaurant Manager will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, handling heavy loads, and physically demanding tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
