Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Communication Line Technician to join our team at PT PROTECH TELECOM LTD. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining aerial and underground telephone equipment, testing equipment to locate transmission faults, and instructing apprentices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment, including trunking systems, circuits, and equipment.
  • Equipment Testing: Test equipment to locate transmission faults and ensure optimal performance.
  • Apprentice Training: Instruct apprentices in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment.
  • Report Management: Complete and maintain test and service reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Physical Demands: Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures to access equipment.
  • Cable Management: Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets to ensure efficient communication networks.
  • Work Assignment: Determine work assignments to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion.
  • Internet Access: Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access for customers.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Equipment Repair: Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers to ensure continuous communication services.
  • Wire Splicing: Splice, join, and connect wires to ensure seamless communication networks.
  • Defective Equipment Repair: Repair or replace defective telephone equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in telecommunications equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
