Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Communication Line Technician to join our team at PT PROTECH TELECOM LTD. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining aerial and underground telephone equipment, testing equipment to locate transmission faults, and instructing apprentices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment, including trunking systems, circuits, and equipment.
  • Equipment Testing: Test equipment to locate transmission faults and ensure optimal performance.
  • Apprentice Training: Instruct apprentices in the installation and maintenance of telephone equipment.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Complete and maintain test and service reports to track work progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Physical Demands: Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures to access and maintain equipment.
  • Customer Service: Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets to meet customer needs.
  • Work Assignment: Determine work assignments and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient completion.
  • Technical Support: Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access and maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems.
  • Equipment Repair: Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Wiring and Splicing: Splice, join, and connect wires to ensure secure and reliable connections.
  • Defective Equipment Repair: Repair or replace defective telephone equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in telecommunications equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
