Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Communication Line Technician to join our team at PT PROTECH TELECOM LTD. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining aerial and underground telephone equipment, testing equipment to locate transmission faults, and instructing apprentices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment, including trunking systems, circuits, and equipment.
  • Equipment Testing and Fault Location: Test equipment to locate transmission faults and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Apprentice Training: Instruct apprentices in the installation and maintenance of telephone equipment and systems.
  • Report Generation and Maintenance: Complete and maintain test and service reports to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with company standards.
  • Work at Heights: Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures to install and maintain equipment.
  • Cable Management: Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets to ensure efficient and safe cable management.
  • Work Assignment and Prioritization: Determine work assignments and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Internet Access Installation: Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access for customers.
  • Transmission System Maintenance: Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Equipment Repair and Replacement: Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers to ensure system reliability.
  • Wire Splicing and Connection: Splice, join, and connect wires to ensure safe and efficient electrical connections.
  • Defective Equipment Repair: Repair or replace defective telephone equipment to ensure optimal system performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in telecommunications equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
