Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care team at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our patients' care plans.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill children, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients' responses to these interventions.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to pediatric critical care.
  • Contribute to the education and training of students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program.
  • Minimum of two years recent acute nursing experience, preferably in pediatric critical care.
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Active participation in professional associations, such as the Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM).
  • CPR Training at the Health Care Provider Level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-Basic ICU Course.
  • Knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and practices.
  • Experience with pediatric patient populations, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs.
